Kelly Neidig’s abstract landscapes are a broad representation of the land, and are filled with brightly colored stripes that may easily be seen as a fresh interpretation of the Color Field movement.  View artwork here:

Drawing upon her experience living and traveling throughout the Northeast, Southwest, and the Pacific Northwest, Neidig’s current body of work is an examination of man’s ceaseless consumption of forests and farmland with our fabricated implements of urban sprawl.  She masks these objects of industry with a liberal application of beautiful colors, allowing nature to assimilate the un-natural back into its fold.

Born in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania in 1979, Neidig earned a BA in Integrative Arts from Penn State University, in 2001. Her work as a professional painter included time as a scenic painter for Sunbelt Scenic Studios in Tempe, AZ, before moving to Portland, OR in 2005. Neidig’s works have been shown at the Lucia Douglas Gallery, Bellingham; RetroFit, Seattle, and were featured in the 2009 “Representing Abstraction” at the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner, WA.  Neidig is an Oregon Arts Commission 2010 Individual Artist Fellowship recipient
