‘Mod-Culture’ Artist George Perrou Featured in Cannon Beach’s Annual ‘Spring Unveiling’ Art Festival, May 1^st-3^rd, 2009

Portland, Oregon – April 15^th, 2009:   Portland painter George Perrou has been selected as a featured artist for the Cannon Beach Gallery Group’s annual “Spring Unveiling” art festival.    

The Galleries of Cannon Beach, Oregon present an annual fine art festival – “Spring Unveiling”.  Each year, ending the first Sunday of May, all 11 participating galleries hold a unique event.  They host local, national or international artists who unveil their new works of art, specially created for the occasion, and demonstrate their artistic techniques.  During the evenings, numerous galleries hold artist's receptions with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.

‘Spring Unveiling 2009’ Art Festival gallery events will start Friday, May 1 and will continue through Sunday, May 3.  Individual gallery events are scheduled staggered to allow people to move from one to another without missing any of the excitement.  For more information please email info@cbgallerygroup.com.

Drawn to those shapes and colors as envisioned by Calder, Miro and Kandinsky, George Perrou has created his own style by imagining the everyday things he sees instead into his own colorful versions of reality...a style that can be best described as Mod-Culture!

Perrou is a distinctive genre' artist who has made the successful jump to the gallery scene, and is being snatched-up by collectors now in Dallas, TX and Palm Springs in addition to his hometown of Portland!  His work is both a unique narrative of colorful landscapes and structures, and made with a  technique equally as unique - which will not be easily copied...  George was a featured artist this season on OPB's Oregon Art Beat!  (watch Video here)

Portland, Oregon – February 5^th, 2009:  Opening tonight and running through February 28th, the "Forever Modern" group exhibit will run concurrently with 'Modernism Week', an annual celebration of Palm Springs' position as the epicenter of modernist architecture and design. 

 

Featuring Portland artist George Perrou alongside Kim Chasen, Gary Janis & Michael Pfleghaar, the "Forever Modern" group exhibit spotlights modernism-inspired paintings of architecture, landscape, palette and forms.  Perrou will unveil new works including Sun Burst, By The Lake, January Landscape, Tuesday, and Inaguration Day.  The artists will join collectors and fans for a Wine and Cheese Reception in the Dezart One Gallery on Monday, February 16th from 5 - 7 PM.

Mid-century contemporary artist unveils new paintings at Palm Springs Modernism Week gallery exhibit

 

Portland, Oregon – January 5^th, 2009:  The artist George Perrou's newest mid-century modern landscape paintings will be featured in the "Forever Modern" group exhibit opening Feb. 5^th at Dezart One Gallery in Palm Springs, CA.

 

Perrou is excited to unveil in "Forever Modern" several new modernism-inspired elements to his body of highly-narrative compositions, including the pieces Sun Burst, By The Lake, January Landscape, Tuesday, and Inaguration Day.  George’s work for this show embodies his uniquely structured shapes and color palette, and highlights the majestic Coachella Valley landscape of Palm Springs.
